St. Petersburg artists to donate pictures to COVID-19 hospitals

On January 14, an exhibition titled From Artists to Doctors is opening in the Union of Artists of St. Petersburg. The pictures to be displayed will be donated to city hospitals. Action participants told about it on Saint-Petersburg TV Channel.
The idea to organize an exhibition that would be a tribute to doctors gained a wide support among St. Petersburg artists. Over 70 pictures were collected, mostly landscapes and still lives.
Artists hope that bright energetic pictures will inspire doctors and nurses who have been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic for almost a year working at and even beyond their capacity.
Ashot Khachatryan, member of the Union of Artists of St. Petersburg Board, says: ‘I believe doctors are our co-authors in a way. They solve the problems that nobody but them can solve. When we need help, we won’t be able to work without their assistance.’
After the exhibition closes, all the pictures will be handed over to hospitals and clinics of St. Petersburg.
