Volunteers are helping doctors to get to their patients by driving them in their cars. So far, 25 volunteers in three city districts are involved in the action, a spokesperson for the city government told Saint-Petersburg TV Channel.
St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov highly commended the activists saying their assistance to general practitioners who are at the front of the fight with COVID-19 deserves most heart-felt gratitude.
The volunteers drive doctors visiting patients who cannot come to clinics. After each visit, the cars are disinfected.
