St. Petersburg’s main skyscraper Lachta Center has won Emporis Skyscraper Award, the world's most renowned prize for high-rise architecture. This is the first time a Russian project has been awarded.
The jury was impressed by the unusual shape of the building and the green solutions and innovative technologies implemented.
Leeza Soho tower in Beijing, one of the last projects by Zaha Hadid, won the second prize, and 35 Hudson Yards in New York was the third.
All in all, the jury assessed 700 buildings.
