Analysts with the Russian web search engine Yandex conducted a research to see residents of which megalopolises changed their way of life the least during the pandemic. St. Petersburg appears to be the most active city of the globe.
The Northern Capital of Russia tops the rating of the world’s megalopolises most active during the pandemic, ABN reports. Yandex compared the activity level before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, St. Petersburg is almost as active as it was in February, before the pandemic, its activity is estimated at 91% of the previous level.
Other cities in the top three are Istanbul and Stockholm. Moscow ranks the 13th, with its activity making 80% of that in February. Los Angeles is at the bottom of the list with its residents adhering to the isolation requirements the best.
Meanwhile, the morbidity rate in St. Petersburg now exceeds that registered in May, with more than 600 new COVID-19 cases registered every day.
