Analysts found out, what St. Petersburg people spent the money they saved during the quarantine on after the restrictions were lifted.
The top purchase was gadgets. In August, the earnings of electronic goods stores surged 31% year-on-year, RBC reports quoting Evotor IT company. Home appliances sales grew by 68%.
Other goods St. Petersburg residents spent money on in August were tobacco, flowers, pet goods and goods and appliances for their summer houses.
Florist’s shops saw their revenues grow 17% year-on-year in August, pet shops earned 38% more, and tobacconists’ 27% more than last year.
Car goods shops increased their revenues by 23%, while auto service centers earned just 4% more than last year, and car wash facilities saw their earnings drop 15%.
