Ars Electronica, a festival for art, technology and society, will be held in many cities of the world during September 9-13. This year, St. Petersburg is joining the event.
This year’s festival concept is In Kepler’s Gardens, the garden being a metaphor for a new way of communication and idea exchange in the modern world.
Every city participating in the festival is to present a viewpoint on the topic. St. Petersburg has prepared a project titled PanGardenia, in which more than 40 Russian and foreign artists participated.
The central event in St. Petersburg will be a journey of the city rivers and canals with a collection of petunias that artist Natalia Balabanova grew during the self-isolation period, when she was in search of new artistic forms.
In St. Petersburg, the festival events will be held at the premises of the ITMO University.
