It is aimed for the Russian regions that cannot afford traditional swimming pools.
The first ever mobile swimming pool has been presented in St. Petersburg. At present, almost half of municipal entities in Russia lack water sports facilities. Saint-Petersburg TV Channel reporter Tatiana Bazhova found out, which of the Russian regions is going to be the first to test the new pool.
The mobile swimming facility is actually a van equipped with shower cubicles, a toilet, a changing room, and a tent with a swimming pool.
The mobile swimming pool was developed in St. Petersburg. Such facilities can be used to teach kids to swim all over Russia in settlements and locations where traditional swimming pools cannot be built.
Raisa Teryokhina, Chairperson of the Public Council under the RF Ministry of sport, says: ‘This is a universal, optimal, mobile design, the pool will be in high demand. We have locations where it is difficult to build traditional swimming facilities.’
Almost half of all the municipal entities in Russia have no swimming facilities. The mobile version has a 10-meter pool with a temperature and water quality control systems. Up to 20 people can swim in it at a time.
Igor Gorin, First Vice President of the Russian Swimming Federation, explains: ’10-15 meters is enough to teach children swimming. This pool combines state of the art technologies to control the temperature and water quality.’
The first mobile pool will be tested in the settlement of Krivyanskaya in Rostov Oblast.
