‘They are all heroes,’ the Governor said.
St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov believes that a monument to commemorate medics who died fighting COVID-19 should be put up in St. Petersburg, he said in an interview to RIA Novosti.
The monument will replace the ‘wall of memory’ with pictures of the deceased doctors and nurses that appeared spontaneously on a fence in Malaya Sadovaya Street.
The fence will be dismounted when the restoration works in the building it surrounds are finished, but the city needs to create a memorial.
‘I have told already, we should create a memorial to commemorate all the medics who died in the pandemic. They are all heroes,’ the Governor said.
