Some 40 bands from different countries are to take part in the three-day jazz marathon.
The major international Petrojazz festival will be held on July 3-5 online. The slogan of this year’s event is ‘Jazz against virus’. Some 40 bands from different countries and continents will take part in the three-day marathon. The festival participants will perform live on Saint-Petersburg TV Channel and on the web.
Performances by overseas bands will be broadcast from their countries. Foreign participants include musicians from Czechia, Switzerland, the USA, Israel, Great Britain and other countries.
Innokentiy Volkomorov, President of Petrojazz festival, tells: ‘We had to change the concept, it was a challenge for us. We discovered a new format, Petrojazz online. All the concerts will be held.’
Petrojazz is a unique project in terms of scale, geography and style variety, and the largest jazz open air festival in Russia. It started as a festival in the Peter and Paul Fortress and is supported by the St. Petersburg government.
