The first electrically driven passenger catamaran has been launched in St. Petersburg, TASS reports.
The vessel accommodating up to 60 passengers is designed as a pleasure boat for river trips. Five such catamarans have been ordered to operate between the Hermitage and Peterhof.
It took 18 months to develop the design. Vessels of the type will be serially built at a shipyard in Leningrad Oblast.
