The exhibition features realism in the Russian art.
The Russian Museum has presented an exhibition titled ‘Arts and Truth’ in its Malaga branch, exhibition organizers told Saint-Petersburg TV Channel.
The online exposition features over 150 paintings of the Russian realism made during the past 350 years.
The Russian Museum opened its branch in Malaga in Spain five years ago. The museum holds three exhibitions a year, one permanent and two temporary ones.
They are quite popular, every year up to half a million people visit the Malaga branch.
Noelia Losada, Counsel for Culture of the Malaga mayor’s office, commented: ‘For us, it is a development of our cultural links, a bridge between Malaga and St. Petersburg, between Spain and Russia. It is an honour and joy for us to have the only overseas branch of your museum. For us, it is more than a museum, it is a meeting point and a cultural venue. Thank you so much, we are happy.’
Due to the pandemic, specialists of the Russian Museum had to prepare the exhibition distantly. The organizers hope the new exhibition will be a success. This week, the ban on visiting museums has been lifted in Spain.
