The operation on an 11-year old girl with a rare pathology leading to paralysis lasted for 3 hours.
Neurosurgeons of St. Petersburg’s Pediatric University have made a unique operation for Huebner arterial aneurysm, a very rare pathology, on an 11-year old girl.
The girl’s condition required an urgent surgery as the she had had three hemorrhages and would not have survived a fourth one, a spokesperson for the University told Saint-Petersburg TV Channel.
The operation has allowed to avoid the risk of paralysis. The young patient is in the resuscitation ward now and is expected to recover soon.
