Sermon broadcast from the mosque will be organized.
This year, the Muslim feast of Uraza-Bairam will be celebrated in an online mode in St. Petersburg. The sermon will be broadcast from the mosque, but only the personnel of the mosque will attend it, the Mufti of St. Petersburg told Saint-Petersburg TV Channel. He asked the believers to pray at home, keep self-isolated and be patient.
Ravil Hazrat Pancheyev, Mufti of St. Petersburg, says: ‘We have to pass this ordeal. The Almighty says in the Koran that He is with those who are patient. We must be patient in the ordeal.’
The Muslims will celebrate Uraza-Bairam on May 24. The feast marks the end of the fast that lasted during the holy month of Ramadan.
The celebration lasts for three days with believers meeting relatives and friends, exchanging gifts, and giving alms to the poor.
