Two maintenance locks have been delivered to Sluice B-3 of the St. Petersburg dam.
The underwater part of the St. Petersburg dam will undergo maintenance and repair. At present, section 8 of Sluice B-3 is being prepared for maintenance, the press office of the Directorate of the Flood Prevention Facility Complex has informed.
The maintenance locks have been installed from the Neva side of the dam and from the side of the Gulf of Finland. The next step will be dewatering the lock chamber to start repairing the reinforced concrete structures below sea level.
Earlier, a floating crane arrived at the dam to be deployed repairing the locks.
