The Hermitage is inaugurating a new permanent exhibition featuring old Russian icons. The hall opens on March 6, City+ reports.
90 masterpieces of the 14th – early 18th centuries Russian icon painting art are displayed including the early 15th century icon of Saint Nicholas, a real treasure of the Hermitage.
The exhibition also showcases elements of Orthodox church architecture such as gilded Holy Doors made in the early 1680-s.
