The unemployment rate in St. Petersburg is one of the lowest in the country, it makes 1.5% of the existing jobs, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov told speaking at the International Labour Forum.
In 2019, 26 thousand new jobs were created in the city during the first nine months of the year.
300 million rubles ($4.7 million) was assigned for professional retraining programmes from the Federal and regional budgets. There are special vocational training programmes for pensioners, mothers with children and people with special needs.
According to Alexander Beglov, almost 37% of people with special needs are employed.
