Housing construction has been growing in St. Petersburg since the start of 2020. In January-February, 264.8 thousand square meters of new housing has been built in the city, up 2.5-fold year-on-year, a spokesperson for the RF Federal State Statistics Service told Saint-Petersburg TV Channel.
The leader in the sphere of new housing construction in the Northwestern Federal District is Leningrad Oblast, where 291.6 square meters has been built during the first two months of 2020. Murmansk Oblast and Nenets Autonomous Region are the outsiders with just 3.9 thousand ad 1.3 thousand square meters built.
Russia-wide new housing construction increased by 2.6% ear-on-year during January-February 2020.
