Car manufacturing declined by 1% year-on-year in 2019 in St. Petersburg.
Last year, St. Petersburg-based Hyundai, Nissan, and Toyota facilities produced 372 thousand cars, 1% below the result of the year 2018, reports City+ citing Auto-Dealer SPb information agency.
Toyota was the only brand that increased manufacturing volumes in St. Petersburg, by slightly more than 1%. Nissan and Hyundai saw their production volumes decline, but Hyundai retains the major share in the St. Petersburg car manufacturing market amounting to 66%. Toyota accounts for 20%, and Nissan for 14% of all cars made in St. Petersburg.
As Saint-Petersburg TV Channel reported earlier, car sales in St. Petersburg were down to more than 150 thousand units in 2019.
