According to Mikhail Leus, chief weather forecaster of the Fobos weather center, the average monthly temperature was plus 1.5 degrees Celsius, 9 degrees above the normal temperature for January.
The previous temperature record in January was recorded in 1925 when the monthly average was minus 0.5 degree.
