55 people received medals in a solemn ceremony in St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov presented veterans of the Second World War with the 75th Victory Anniversary commemorative medals in a solemn ceremony on Friday.
‘I am very exited to hand over these commemorative medals to you on the President’s commission. Real warriors have gathered here today, both men and women. They are the people who took Prague, stormed Berlin, fought in partisan squads, worked on the home front. You were all fighting for our Victory,’ Alexander Beglov said.
More than fifty people were awarded on Friday. By the Victory Day, 100 hundred veterans are to receive the medals in St. Petersburg.
