A Visit Petersburg office has opened in Doha in Qatar. As a spokesperson for the St. Petersburg Committee for tourism development told Saint-Petersburg TV Channel, the new office will promote e-visas to visit Russia for travelers from Qatar. E-visas are available for tourists whose passport will be valid for at least six month. An agreement on cooperation was signed between the Russian Federation and Qatar in December 2019.
The Visit Petersburg office in Qatar is the fourteenth, other overseas Visit Petersburg office operate in Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo, Barcelona and other cities. The most recent opening of a new Visit Petersburg office was in January 2020 in Palermo.
The Visit Petersburg is aimed at promoting St. Petersburg as a travel destination telling potential tourists about the city and its attractions and presenting St. Petersburg at international exhibitions.
