Over a hundred cadets of the N.G.Kuznetsov Naval Academy attended the first service.
The first Divine Liturgy was served in the new church in the N.G.Kuznetsov Naval Academy on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the RF Ministry of Defense told Saint-Petersburg TV Channel.
The church is named in honor of St. Apostle Andrew revered as a heavenly patron of all sailors. Over a hundred cadets studying in the Academy attended the first service.
Vladimir Kasatonov, RF Deputy Navy Commander, said the consecration of the new church is an important event for the cadets and staff of the Academy.
Archpriest Alexander, the dean of the church, added that people are demonstrating interest in the church where they can have their children baptized and meet their fellow-believers.
