Last week, 20 students attended the first class held in the National Literatures Library.
A free Russian language course for migrants has started in St. Petersburg. For the time being, classes are scheduled once a week, in future, there will be two classes a week in four districts of the city.
Students are divided into groups depending on their language skills. Classes take place in the evenings. Last week, 20 students came to the first class to the National Literatures Library.
Similar classes are to start soon in other districts of the city. The teachers are volunteers, either graduates or last-year students of St. Petersburg’s pedagogical universities.
Every year, 500 people can complete the course.
