The church procession is to celebrate the feast of the Meeting of the Lord in the Temple and the Orthodox Youth day.
On Sunday, a church procession will be organized to celebrate the feast of the Meeting of the Lord in the Temple and the Orthodox Youth day.
At 10 a.m., a Divine Liturgy will be served in the Church of Acheiropoieta, or, the Icon of the Savior Not-Made-By-Hands. From there, the procession will proceed to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, where a prayer service will be held.
‘When in a church, we feel different from our everyday life, and a church procession breaks the boundaries between the sacred and our everyday routine,’ Archpriest Konstantin Golovatsky, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Eparchy Council for youth relations, explains.
The celebration programme also includes quests and a field canteen. Young people aged 14 to 35 are invited to participate.
