The Guildhall Music and Drama School in London and the St. Petersburg Museum of Theatre and Music art are holding a series of concerts, master classes and a conference.
When: February 14-16
A Voice between Nations project is aimed at practical interchange between two vocal schools rich in traditions, the Russian and the British ones. The project was initiated by the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music and the Guildhall Music and Drama School in London in the framework of the UK-Russia Year of Music and the year-long festivities marking the 175th anniversary of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
According to Blog.fiesta, the programme includes four concerts of Russian and British vocal and chamber music of the 19th-21st centuries (one of the concerts will be in Moscow) and an international conference.
The work of British composers Julian Philips and Philip Grange will be coached and curated by Paul Archbold. Soloists from the Mariinsky Theatre – Olga Trifonova, Ekaterina Shimanovich and Natalia Evstafieva - will take the stage together with stellar Scottish pianist and award-winning broadcaster Iain Burnside and Maria Razumovskaya, whose solo concert in Moscow’s Russian National Museum of Music will showcase a programme of Russian and British composers.
