Metrostroy employees had days off on January 1 and 2, while the rest of the country is back to work on
January 1-8 were official holidays in Russia, however, Metrostroy, the company responsible for building St. Petersburg metro, continued working, they had only two extra days off on January 1 and 2.
According to the press office of Metrostroy, construction works are underway on the Krasnoselsko-
Kalininskaya and Lakhtinsko-Pravoberezhnaya metro lines. The drilling of the tunnel between the Yugo-
Zapadnaya and Putilovskaya stations has been resumed after a large rock measuring 2.5 by 2.5 meters
was finally broken.
During the holidays, some 1.5 thousand cubic meters of ground lifted while building tunnels was
removed from the construction sites.
