Sergey Burlakov, a Paralympic athlete, gave a motivation lecture in the Prosto youth space in St. Petersburg.
A motivation meeting with Sergey Burlakov, a Paralympic athlete, was held in the Prosto youth space in St. Petersburg. He is on the Guinness World Records list as the first ever person on the planet to fly a flying machine after limb amputation.
Sergey told his story and gave advice on how to find yourself and not to be discouraged.
Sergey Burlakov advises: ‘Love this life. Love yourselves in this life so the life could love you. Then you won’t have problems with the job you hate or with the partner you don’t love. Love yourselves in this life, make up a fairy tale with the characters that you want to be around you. This is what works for me.’
The athlete came to the meeting with his wife. He beats world records, runs marathons, parachutes and flies a biplane.
Yulia Ablets, Chairperson of the St. Petersburg Committee for youth policy, says: ‘These meetings are aimed to show young people of St. Petersburg that the world is full of opportunities. We often fail to notice these opportunities. But if someone who saw them, used them and did something significant and important comes and tells how he made it possible, we believe, this can encourage.’
Sergey Burlakov is a member of the RF Civic Chamber where he works on improving conditions for children with disabilities and developing sports. He has been nominated Person of the year and Person of the planet several times.
