President Vladimir Putin approved the composition of the State Council Presidium as of January 27.
St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov has been appointed member of the State Council Presidium. The decree on the rotation of the State Council Presidium membership is published on the official legal information web portal.
Other members of the new Presidium are Volgograd Oblast Governor Andrey Bocharov, head of Kabardino-Balkaria Republic Kazbek Kokov, Sakhalin Oblast Governor Valery Limarenko, Tver Oblast Governor Igor Rudenya, Altay Kray Governor Viktor Tomenko, head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov, Kurgan Oblast Governor Vadim Shumkov.
The State Council Presidium, consisting of nine members of the State Council, is formed to resolve operational issues. The composition of the Presidium is determined by the President of the Russian Federation and is subject to rotation every six months. The State Council Presidium examines the State Council’s work plan, as well as the agenda for its upcoming meetings.
Meetings of the State Council Presidium are held as necessary, but typically no less than once a month.
