Those who were lucky to observe it, have shared pictures in social media.
St. Petersburg witnessed the first moon eclipse this year last week. The maximal phase of the penumbral lunar eclipse occurred at 22:10 on Friday night.
Not everybody was able see the eclipse in St. Petersburg due to the fog. But those who were lucky, have shared pictures in social media.
Solar and lunar eclipses happen twice a year on the average when the Sun, the Moon and the Earth line up in a row. If the Moon is in the middle, a solar eclipse is observed, and if the Earth is in the middle, the Moon is eclipsed.
