Findings of search groups, historic literature and photos will be on display.
In January 2020, a new museum dedicated to the history of the Arctic Convoys that were part of the Lend Lease programme during World War 2 will open in St. Petersburg. The project was initiated by the Arctic Convoy Society. St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov supported the idea.
The museum has already received premises to organize the exposition, at present, exhibits are being prepared and arranged for display, reports City+ quoting Yelena Platonova, development director of the museum.
According to Yelena Platonova, the Arctic Convoy Society has accumulated a large collection of books, posters, historic military uniform, mannequins and other exhibits.
The museum will also demonstrate the findings of search groups, historic literature and photos made during the war. The new museum plans to organize open lectures, master classes, round tables for St. Petersburg youth.
