The awards ceremony will be held in the Hermitage Theatre.
The 16th International Baltic Star Awards for the Development and Strengthening of Humanitarian Relations in the Baltic Sea region ceremony will be held today in in St. Petersburg.
According to the city government’s press office, this year’s awards winners are Chairman of the Russian Theatre Union Alexander Kalyagin, ex-President of Finland Tarja Halonen and Swedish translator Kajsa Oberg Lindsten.
In the Memory category, playwright, scriptwriter and poet Alexander Volodin was nominated. And in the Culture Support category, art historian, collector and patron Nina Lobanova-Rostovskaya will be awarded.
The awards ceremony to take place in the Hermitage Theatre will be attended by members of the St. Petersburg government, previous years’ winners, members of the expert board and the board of trustees, and consuls general of the Baltic region countries.
International Baltic Star Awards are given to representatives of art, culture, official and business circles for establishing and developing cultural links between countries and expanding humanitarian cooperation.
