St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov attended the ceremony.
Three new metro stations of the Frunze radial line, Prospect Slavy, Dunaiskaya and Shushary have been opened in St. Petersburg. The ceremony was attended by Alexander Beglov, Governor of the city.
The new stations will do much to improve transport connections with the southern part of St. Petersburg. Until now, many residents of Frunzensky district had to use other metro stations loosing time getting to them by other transport modes.
Initially, the Prospect Slavy, Dunaiskaya and Shushary stations were to have been opened in September, but Alexander Beglov made a decision to postpone putting them into operation until all safety and security systems of the new metro section are double-checked.
On September 30, the Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) confirmed that the new stations meet all the project requirements.
