Laser and nanoparticles allows to reach ultra-low temperatures.
Researchers at St. Petersburg’s ITMO University have invented a method of cooling almost any surface using laser and nanoparticles, TASS reports. The new technology could help extend the operational life of solar panels.
In their experiments, scientists used perovskites, semi-conductors that absorb light well and transform it into other forms of energy.
In future, the know-how developed by St. Petersburg’s researchers will allow to develop self-cooling lasers, a problem actively discussed in scientific circles.
