The zoo has published a video of the bear playing with a ball.
St. Petersburg’s Zoo (which is actually officially called the Leningrad Zoo) has published a video of Haarchaana, a polar bear, playing with new toys.
According to the Zoo, the balls were presented as part of the programme aimed at supporting polar bears in Russian zoos.
Haarchaana is a young female polar bear, the name means ‘Snowflake’ in the Yakut language, as she was brought to St. Petersburg from Yakutia.
However, she is not an altogether stranger in St. Petersburg as she is a granddaughter of another polar bear kept in the Leningrad Zoo.
