Young people can give master classes, develop their projects, work and just enjoy themselves here.
Prosto is a new educational and entertainment space that just opened in St. Petersburg. This is the first co-working center of this format in the city.
The opening ceremony was attended by more than a thousand of school and university students and young activists.
Lyubov Sovershaeva, Vice Governor of St. Petersburg, said the new center was created for young people to have a place to come and find friends, improve their competencies, discuss things and get advice, tell about their ideas and develop them into real projects.
The youth space located on Medikov Prospect has an amphitheatre hall, a co-working zone, rooms to hold lectures, seminars and training courses. It is up to the visitors to decided what they want to listen to, teach and discuss.
There are also leisure and entertainment options such as a library, table soccer and a lounge zone with video games. Tea, coffee and cookies are also available – and free.
But the main idea of the center is to give young people an chance to promote their projects and receive support from the city authorities, the business and social activists.
There are four major spheres of activity for the center visitors to choose from, these are Business and Science, Social Projects, Education and Career, and Leisure and Entertainment.
Yulia Ablets, Chairwoman of the St. Petersburg Committee on Youth Policy and Cooperation with NGOs, stresses that it is up to the young people who will come to the Prosto Center to define its programme and agenda. They can just play computer games, if they wish, or they can work on a project, write a thesis or a yearly essay.
