Yuriy Zinchuk, host: “Good news for car owners! The seaside countryside area so fondly loved by St. Petersburg’s residents – Kurortnyi District – has become a few kilometers closer.
That is because three additional exists and entrances out and in from the WSD have been opened
this week. Towards Pesochny and Beloostrov villages. According to preliminary estimates, up to
10 thousand cars will pass through here every day. These additional roads will cut down the
travel time from the city center to Kurortnyi District by half-hour”.
Alexander Beglov, interim governor of St. Petersburg: “It is an important crossing to us. First
of all, it would save time – up to 30 minutes less for the residents of the area to get to the city
center. That is a lot. I want to express my gratitude to the construction workers. It was far from
easy – railroad aside, they had to re-lay two gas pipelines”.
Yuriy Zinchuk, host: “There will no longer be traffic jams by the railroad crossing towards
Beloostrov, where people used to be stuck at for half-hour. And the new roads will improve
accessibility to local hospitals at Pesochny. Including the oncology center”.
