Ryanair, EasyJet and Wizz Air submitted their flight plans from St. Petersburg.
Several European low-cost airlines have applied to start flights from St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo airports, reports RBC quoting Leonid Sergeev, MD of the Pulkovo operator, Northern Capital Gateway.
In August, Ryanair, EasyJet and Wizz Air presented their flight plans from St. Petersburg. According to Leonid Sergeev, low-cost airlines will be able to benefit from the Open Skies regime to be implemented in Pulkovo.
The Open Skies regime allows an airline to carry passengers and cargo between St. Petersburg and third countries, not only the country of registry.
Leonid Sergeev expects that low-cost airlines could bring additionally up to 6 million of tourists to St. Petersburg annually.
According to TASS, Pulkovo Airport intends to get Open Skies permits for 35 destinations.
