The exhibition to open on October 3 in the Russian Museum marks the painter’s 175th anniversary.
This year, the 175th anniversary of the famous Russian painter Ilya Repin is celebrated. On October 3, a large-scale exhibition of his works is opening in the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.
Repin’s pictures from the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Finnish Atheneum Art Museum, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, other museums and private collections will be on display.
Visitors will be able to see such paintings as «Barge Haulers on the Volga», «Sadko in the Underwater Kingdom», «Tsarevna Sophia Alexeevna in the Novodevitchy Convent», «Religious Procession in Kursk Province», «Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks», and «They Did Not Expect Him», which are kept in different museums, displayed at one exposition.
Besides these well-known pictures, Ilya Repin’s graphic works will be exhibited.
The exhibition will be open till March 9, 2020.
