The St. Petersburg Committee for Environmental Protection was recognized for its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emission.
The St. Petersburg Committee for Environmental Protection took the third place in the all-Russian Climate and Responsibility 2019 contest, in which representatives of authorities and organizations from all over Russia took part.
According to the Government of St. Petersburg press office, the Committee for Environmental Protection was recognized as a third best in the ‘Best subject of the Federation in reducing greenhouse gas emission’ category.
The World Wild Life Fund Russia was honored with a certificate for its educational and promotional activities in the sphere of climate issues in Russia, and the National Carbon Sequestration Foundation with a certificate for long-term activities to preserve the climate.
The contestants will be presented with their awards on September 4 at the Climate Forum of cities in Moscow.
