Peterhof to dedicate autumn fountain show to Empress Catherine the Great
A multimedia performance at the Grand Cascade will immerse the audience into the atmosphere of the 18th century.

The Autumn Fountain Show in Peterhof State Museum on September 20 and 21 will be dedicated to Empress Catherine the Great.
2019 marks 290 years since the birth of Catherine the Great, a German princess that became an Empress of Russia. Peterhof Museum will pay an homage to Catherine by presenting a multimedia show illustrating the life of the Empress.
A unique high-tech performance entitled #EMPRESS2019 and featuring 3D mapping, holographic projections, powerful pyrotechnics, laser and light effects will be held at the Grand Cascade fountain and will culminate in fireworks.
Peterhof was a kind of symbolic place for the Empress marking some crucial points in her life. It is in Peterhof that she was welcomed as a young bride of Grand duke Pyotr Fyodorovich, and later as a spouse of Emperor Peter III. And it is from Peterhof that she started her journey towards power and fame to become one of the most remarkable personalities on the Russian throne.
