Four St. Petersburg universities listed in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019

These are ITMO, St Petersburg University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Saint-Petersburg Mining University.

This year, four St. Petersburg universities are listed in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, with ITMO getting into the top 500 and thus ranking the highest among the city’s university. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are compiled every year, the rating includes more than 1,250 universities from almost 90 countries. 40 of these are Russian universities.

Universities are ranked on the basis of performance indicators including citations, teaching and research.
This year’s list of the world’s best universities is led by the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge followed by Stanford University.
