Not your average girls. Ladies of St. Petersburg are putting on thick military coats and take to arms on the weekends

Ahead of the international women's day, not all women dream of the so-called typical presents

Some ladies prefer untypical activities to boxes with expensive brands written on them or jewelry. The smell of gunpowder, adrenaline and competitiveness – sometimes these feelings become the most desired on March 8th. Anna Bezkrovnaya can vouch for that

Anna Bezkrovnaya, reporter: “Instead of shopping and manicure, they put on the thick military coats and take to arms and machine guns on the weekends. These girls have outdone the stereotypical strong Russian women. They are ready to confront any enemy”

During daytime, they are IT specialists and logistics experts. But here they forget about their careers. Marina is a businesswoman. But here she makes orders not connected to the world of finance

Marina Kudryavtseva, member of reconstructions club: “We've all began from scratch. Reaching the rank of an officer is very difficult here, practically impossible.

A rank is the reason to do something you love and renew the wardrobe. Military gear is quite costly. The entire costume costs around 60,000 rubles. Although, you can save money on a gym. And such exercises take place every weekend.

Yulia Zakharova, member of rconstructions club: “I am capable of lifting heavy bags, I can go through intense training and cross-country runs – just to show the younger people what our people had to endure in the 1940s.

These girls are driven by patriotism and the willingness to show how things were back then. They are sure – war does not have a woman's face. But for the people talking about it - this is irrelevant
