Nikolay Rastvortsev, reporter: “One of the main events of the year was painted in tragic colors. Early in the morning, on October 31, Airbus A-321 flying from Sharm-El-Sheikh to the Northern Capital exploded over the Sinai Peninsula. All 224 passengers of flight 9268, most of which were St. Petersburg residents, including 25 children, died instantly.
Tens of thousands of flowers, thousands of toys, hundreds of photographs and candles. The whole city reacted to the tragedy. Improvised memorials appeared in the heart of the Northern Capital – at Dvortsovaya Square – as well as by the Pulkovo airport. The whole country mourned together with St. Petersburg.
A crime without expiration date, this is how Vladimir Putin described it. The president vowed that names of the terrorists will become known and organizers will get what they deserve.
