Long-haul construction and shared construction participants.

As per tradition, news service of “Sankt-Peterburg” TV station recalls the past year. And it was rich with events. Not only foreign politics shaped the landscape of news coverage in 2015. Life in the Northern Capital was bustling. Tragic and joyous, political and economic – here are 2015’s most important events as seen by the channel’s reporters.

Alexey Zhukov, reporter: “It might be a different sort of tragedy, but this year has been full of those for St. Petersburg’s construction industry. 22 long-haul construction projects are moving in to 2016, as well as 10 thousand shared construction participants who have suffered losses”.

The top of the problematic list, even ahead of SU-155 which experiences problems nationally, is the “Gorod” GC. The reason is scary – the fight for square meters ended with a murder. On the eve of October 6th unidentified men attacked Konstantin Andreev, husband of activist Alla Andreeva. The man received fatal injuries. “You’re next” was written on windshield of the woman’s car. Alla Andreeva was taken under state protection.

Shared construction participants suspect the Vanchugov brothers – Maxim and Ruslan – in massive embezzlement. Bothe are accused of stealing 800 million rubles and are in custody. This scandal even reached the State Duma. The third brother – Roman – may be stripped of deputy’s job – and immunity too. Deputies of St. Petersburg’s parliament have been relentlessly pushing this move”
