Pinetrees, snow and ski. Starting today, “sports trains” will again set off from Moskovskiy and Finlandskiy train stations – the “ski arrows”
Free trains for everyone travel in 2 directions – Orekhovo and Shapki. They operate on the weekends.
Tickets to the “Arrows” are available at local administrations. A train can carry up to 800 passengers in one ride.
Elena Razumakhina, head of mass sports department of the physical culture and sports committee at the St. Petersburg government: “Usually, these are people who cannot afford going out of town or somewhere far – socially unprotected ones. And now they have an opportunity to go out of town for a ski ride”
Trains travel almost without stops, and the trip takes around an hour. Having reached the destination, sportsmen can leave their belongings inside – the train will wait for them at the station. Three routes have been designed for skiers – 5, 10 and 15 kilometers. Trainers work with amateurs. This year those trains will travel up until March.
