The general rehearsal of the graduates festivity “Alye Parusa” was held yesterday evening in St. Petersburg. The Swedish brig “Tre Konor” sailed through the Neva – from the Petropavlovskaya fortress to the Liteyniy bridge, where it turned around and headed to the Dvortsovyi bridge.
That’s why the Troitskiy bridge was raised at 2200.
The rehearsal looks just the same to the ceremony itself. The boat sails down its route, accompanied by the very same music which will be played tonight. The crew is on its places. The main thing is missing though – the scarlet sails. These were not opened, but were carefully left folded on the masts.
Before the boat went down the Neva, the water was inspected by the small-boats authority. Although it wasn’t too stressful work. Bad weather and warnings did the trick – river taxis and boats stayed at their harbors.
Dmitriy Ermachenko, deputy head of regional center of State Inspection of Small Boats: “Every canal has a boat with representatives, and also at the open waters. People from the OMON, LOVDT and our department are being involved”.
Specialists will have to make one more tour like this right before the ceremony. The high-awareness mode will be implemented during the festivity. Because even after the rehearsal it remains unclear – how the brig will behave gliding through the waters of the beastly Neva during the event.
Alexander Odintsov, reporter: “The rehearsal is needed, first and foremost, by the crew of the Swedish boat. They must work out all – even the tiniest – actions. Because “Tre Konor” is suited for open sea, and Neva is too small for it”.
