Physical exercises available to anyone. St. Petersburg’s 1st sports ground for the disabled has been opened today in the Frunzensky district.
It was planned a while ago, but its construction started only in May. Now patients of the rehabilitation center have all means for outdoor sports activities: a futsal area, table tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, and, certainly, special fitness machines to develop all sets of muscles, improve accuracy and endurance. One of the first visitors to the site were the honored guests – Zenit’s goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeev, who refused to talk to the press, and 6-time Olympic skiing champion Lyubov Egorova.
Lyubov Egorova, 6-time Olympic skiing champion: “They have their own corner now. Yes, it may be small, but its really cozy and good – where children can do sports, use fitness machines and learn sports skills aside from those they’re going through within the walls of the center”.
Patients of the rehabilitation center had their first trainings on the new ground today.
